Our Story
The Ancient Greek Philosopher Plato first said “Necessity is the Mother of Invention”. SmartCap was developed out of necessity. One of our fork truck drivers missed a maintenance check on his fork truck and nearly damaged the $8,000 battery. Our parent company, POWERHOUSE Electronics Corp (a “wireless” technology company) heard of our situation, researched the Industrial Lead Acid Battery Industry and felt that there had to be a better way to guard against Capital Equipment Loss . SmartCap was born. Now, we save time accessing the top of the battery to check the water level, SmartCap tells us when water is needed. We have designed a product that can be installed in less than a minute, on each fork truck, no drilling, no hard wiring, no hassle. After installing a SmartCap Sensor and plugging in the LED Beacon, all you have do now is wait for SmartCap to tell you when maintenance is needed. Some industrial batteries require water more frequently than others, with SmartCap there’s no guessing.
